28mm CRUSADES Game 1 (Lion Rampant)

Having bought the Lion Rampant rules I then had to put together two forces to play them. I had a lot of Old glory and Essex troops waiting to by painted (for some time) so I devised two forces and set to work.
I gave the Saracens more cavalry as they had historically and went for a Hospitallers theme with my Crusaders. Also giving them pilgrims for a holly feel to the force. The Muslim force was also heavy with archers. Below can be seen the two forces before the battle.

Here is the table arrayed for battle with the Saracens defending there City against the Crusader advance. The old Greek ruined Temple made for a great centre piece.

With their swiftness of movement the Muslims attack first and inflict archery losses on the Hospitallers that at first they reel from.

Evantually the Crusaders rally and charge the Muslims with mixed effect .

It takes a final charge with the Grand Master himself at the head (or rear) of the force to level the day and force the Saracens back behind their walls.
