28mm Indian Mutiny

Here we have some shots of a set of Indian Mutiny figures that I have recently done for my matey Desmond ,there were many more Mutineers but I am sure you get the gist
I am not quite sure on all the makers but I am sure that a vast majority are Foundry. I really enjoyed painting these chaps as I made a welcome change from WWII and Napoleonics ...lol

Below are my usual action shots with the Mutineers attacking a British position held by sailors of the Navy contingent.

More 28mm WWII early war French

Having finally finished these lovely Early French for my friend John. I took the opportunity for a little shoot and chose the idea of a line of troops setting up against a fence line awaiting the German onslaught. The figures are from Crusader miniatures who do a fine range of these French for this period.

28mm WWII Early Germans and French

Finished more lovely World War Two figures this week and couldn't resist a shoot before they went off.
Below we have a scene of the early war ,as German troops of the blitzkrieg encounter a troop of French infantry trying to block the road and hold off their advance. The French and Germans are from Crusader minis and were lovely to paint with crisp clear detail. The tanks I am weathering for my matey Mick at 1st Corps but don't know the make.

The Paintwork of Jim Bowen in Dave Thomas's collection

Some time ago I was lucky enough to be asked by Dave to base up some of the figures he had had painted for him by the late Jim Bowen … a painter of great work in the hobby and a good friend from my home town ...as I had the figures I also decided to photograph lots of the stuff I had based and so here are some of those phots to make sure we never forget Jim's beautiful work.
First of all below are his Napoleonics including lots of the then new French Guard figures and some beautiful command groups.

Here we have some of the lovely Sudan figures ...which have a place of pride in Dave's collection as one of his favourite periods...we have most of the Allied forces including Camel Corps and the Highlanders.

Next we see a gorgeous collection of Classical Greek forces and Allies including Spartans ,Athenians ,Thebans & Cretan archers.

Up next are the Medievals form Dave's collection and these include firstly the War of the Roses ,The Hundred Years War & The First Crusade.

As we near the end of our little gallery we have some beautiful AWI southern theatre Americans n line of advance and firing line.

Finally these fabulous Assyrians from the Foundry collection. This is only a small proportion of the figures painted by Jim that Dave owns and hopefully at some time I will be able to visit Dave and take loads more pictures of more lovely figures.
