28mm World War Two Russian Infantry

Had a great time painting these lovely lot. Even though the majority are plastics they were well detailed from Warlord and lots of pose variety. They are for a friend in Tennessee and I hope he'll be happy with em.
Decided on a lovely diorama ton show them off and went for a number of variant uniforms from all brown to a mix of the green and brown.

28mm Spartan and Athenian Greeks for Mortal Gods

Having received a call from my great mate Johnny boy Martin to see if I had any Greeks available I proceeded to produce these two sets of troops for him.
The first set are of Spartan from 1st Corps and are figures in bell cuirasses. They include a piper and two officers.
This second set are of Athenians and are from Victrix and include two officers again and the usual piper
All these troops are in sets of three and have been produced for the new Mortal Gods game. Also I decided to paint all the shields by hand as I cant do with the printed ones are they are so fiddley ...lol

28mm WW2 BOLT ACTION 44 part 3

Well I've finally got back to the game and the troops finally got into action as they realised that each other was there. The Americans took the first casualties as there jeep crew was hit and pinned down on the main street , opened fire on by numerous German stuff.
The Americans headed straight for the nearest cover with the Germans doing the same and a long fire fight starting up.

American 1st squad taking cover behind a long fence

German 2nd SS squad moving in to the north of the field in an attempt to flank the Americans

American support team moves up.

After a couple of rounds of the fire fight finally the German 1st para squad supported by the Stug enter the field by the bridge.

with the German para 2nd squad to the north over the small bridge

Unfortunately for the Germans the Americans brought up all their supports led by the Sherman

Here we can see the position after the 5th round of play and its getting hot in there!!!

28mm Wild West Plains, Native Americans

I was sent these figures by a new customer and have to say really enjoyed both researching and then painting them , right from the markings on them and on their horses. The figures are from the original foundry range and are very detailed and animated. Below we see the mounted warriors in full war paint.

and here are the foot warriors charging in full war paint.

I have more of these lovely figures just arrived so will be at these again very soon.

28mm Napoleonic Limbers

Well its been some time since I updated and having done lots of repetitive Napoleonic infantry of previous units I thought "no point in going over them again" But now were back and with a Limber and artillery fest...lol
Firstly we have a number of artillery pieces , limbers and caissons for the Brunswick contingent at the Battle of Waterloo...These have  all been done for my friend Paul and they including horse as well as foot. The figures are from Perry Miniatures.

Next we have the British from the same period with horse teams and foot artillery. The figures are again Perry Miniatures.

And here we see some lovely limbers from the Commissar Minis company of Russian Horse guards mid Napoleonics.

You might think this is all but NO because in total I think there were actually 28 full limbers as well as many caissons and pieces...not bad eh...

28mm WW2 BOLT ACTION 44 Part 2

Before any moves were made I decided that at first only half of each force would join the table at first and then after 4 turns the rest of the forces could appear as a sort of reserve and also I decided that the Americans would throw a dice for their initial advance track as they came to the first junction which would simulate the fact that they did not know were the Germans were.

The game started with a German draw and the kubelwagen was sent forward towards the broken down truck to check on it and to cover any advance from the enemy.

The next draw was an American move and the jeep advanced forward .

On the next draw the hanomag was sent forward to join the kubelwagen and is carrying the command team...1st SS squad and the sniper team

Next another German draw and the SDKFZ 222 advanced down the second road towards the centre of the town

With the next draw being American an M3 advance to join the jeep carrying the command team and the 1st infantry squad
With a German draw the 2nd SS squad advanced on foot up the second road to support the 222 and the German final draw was a machine gun team that advanced to support the hanomag

The final draw for this turn was the American truck joining the other vehicles and carrying the 2nd infantry squad and the sniper team
SO AT THE END OF THE 1ST TURN ...NO ACTUAL CONTACT AS YET...

The 2nd turn started with the German kubelwagen advancing further into town to access any threat
This was quickly supported by the hanomag

the German command then alighted the vehicle followed by the SS squad
Again the Germans got the draw and advanced the 222 further into the middle of town
but as yet no contcts
Then came the American draws and this included the truck unloading its infantry squad to check the rea before any advance further into town

As well as the M3 off loading its command team

Finally for this turn the Germans advanced their 2nd SS squad up to support the 222 and the machine gun team further up the road

SO AT THE END OF THE 2ND TURN ...STILL NO CONTACT and the situation is as seen below...

I think in turn 3 the action is going to come very quickly as both sides are advancing straight at each other as they check the town...

28mm WW2 French Light Infantry Force

These troops were quite lovely to paint as they are not the first Army people think of , and when the French are chosen its not the Light troops that are usually headed for.
But my friend Jason from Tennessee has decided to use them and I hope he is happy with his force.

There are 3x 11 man squads of infantry and a 7 man squad ,a light medium machine gun and a mortar team plus 4 troops with rifle grenades... a light artillery piece and a command team.

Below I have set the figures in an appropriate scene against German early war tanks to show the figures in action on the street of France.
