28mm Great War 1914 Collection

I was sent a commission some time ago from over the pond for a large set of Great War figures for 1914 and I thought it time for you to take a look...the majority of the figures are Renegade & Great war and are beautifully sculpted. I really enjoyed this project as it took in many of the variant uniforms on show at the beginning of the war.
Below we see German regulars attacking an early French trench.

A close-up of the French defenders.

Here we have French infantry attacking through a corn field. Figures from Renegade.

Blow we have French Marines attacking through a villa yard. Figures from Renegade.

Here we have German Jaegers advancing on a Belgium secure position with a machine gun.
Belgians from Great war & Germans from Renegade.

Below are Belgium Jaegers holding of German infantry on a Belgian farm. Both forces from Great war.

Net we have Highland troops setting up a defensive position with machine gun on a farm near Mons.
Figures from Renegade.

And here Scottish infantry attack an early German trench.

Finally we see German troop setting up a machine gun post on a farm in France and helping themselves to dinner as well...
Figures from both Renegade & Great war.

1st Corps "Dad's Army" characters in 28mm

I just couldn't resist painting this set once I had seen them. The brothers at 1st Corps have done numerous figures for this lot but these took my eye.
Below are the gang all outside the church hall fallen in with Jonesy as usual out of step.

Here we se the same set on top of the white cliffs believing they can hear the German's tunnelling in underneath.

Infamy Infamy...Year of the 4 Emperors Sets

Well the Collection for the Year of the Four Emperors has really moved on and is in a gaming state already...you can see below the original forces for the 1st Legion...all from Foundry with Black tree archers and a set of Gallic warriors that I have decided to use as mercenaries.

Here we have the 2nd Legion forces using 1ST Corps figures to differentiate from the Foundry ones being attacked by the 1st Legion. So in both these forces we have regulars , auxilia and archers as well as Centurion's and Optio's and a set of Gallic mercenaries.

Next I have added the mounted troops for both Legions as well as Elite legionaries bringing both forces up to a well playable set. The Elite forces are from Foundry & 1st Corps and the cavalry from 1st Corps & Warlord games. All the shields on these forces are from LBM Studios which I had for decades and are still as good as new.

And finally the Two small forces ready to face off on a table soon...so I hope many a good battle report to come.
