28mm French & Indian War Sharp Practice game 1

After a long wait for me I finally ,with all this isolation time , got down to a game of French Indian Sharp Practice...now I have adapted the rules slightly to accommodate my small 4x2 set up but nothing major and I really have been waiting ages to give this a go. Above you can see the set up ready for play.. The British deployment point is on the road to the very left of the picture and the French is in the trees to the very right. The scenario is a British position with block house defence and a French attack to take the position.
Below are the two sides and their relevant forces and deployment markers.

The game starts with the blockhouse garrison actually in position and the only troops actually on the board.
The first to deploy were the French skirmishers closely followed by the Marine s Canadian under control of their Officers...The British closely followed with both the Rangers and the Regulars deploying , but before anything could really happen we were all out for tiffin...

The next several rounds flew by quite quickly with both sides taking up positions and the final troops deployed , a good fire fight ensued with both sides witling each other down. The Marine Canadians seemed to be adding up the points of shock but never lost a single man.

Unfortunately for the British their regulars found themselves under heavy fire from two sides and had to rotate away from cover which was a bad move and saw hem really take a pounding . Also with some amazing dice numbers the blockhouse founds is numbers dwindling. Then suddenly the Rangers routed as the Marines moved in for the kill. The Marines finally lost their first casualties but it was too late for the British , who, at least managed a fighting retreat.

A really enjoyable game with some great game play. I think next time I will really get into the swing maybe and name the characters as it says in the rules. And maybe give the British a better chance...lol
